Kerry holds firm on promise not to criticize opponant's lack of military serv. . . Never mind.

Yahoo! News: After promising repeatedly that he would not make President Bush and VP Cheney's not serving in the military (why doesn't the national guard count?) an issue in the campaign, Kerry is obviously running scared after the outstanding speeches made last night at the RNC convention by VP Cheney and Senator Zell Miller (D-GA).

Kerry's 20-year record of senatorial service was thoroughly exposed in these speeches. Kerry's track record is a two decade-span of being weak on defense (Sen. Miller gave us insight on all of the programs Kerry voted against), flip-flopping (you should all know this by now), and proposing spending increases (over $2 trillion in proposed programs). Kerry's handlers obviously believe that the best response is to put the focus back on Vietnam.

Traditionally, during a party nominating convention, the other candidate refrains from campaigning during that period. Kerry must be worried to instantly leap back into the fight (either that or the windsurfing off of Cape Cod isn't that good this time of year).

So -- back we go to Vietnam. Hopefully that will be good for Kerry dropping further in the polls.
