"Thanks for stuffing the ballot box!"
Michael Moore "won" the People's Choice Award last night for best motion picture. In his acceptance speech, Moore said he was "amazed" that people voted his film their favorite.
I find this hard to believe because Michael Moore was stumping all over the Internet on liberal websites to get the so-called "progressive community" to vote for him.
A Google search for vote for Fahrenheit 9/11 on the People's Choice Awards will result in dozens of liberal web site pages where Moore begs liberals to vote for his movie.
An example of one personal message from Moore: "The People's Choice Awards are considered, among all the awards shows, to be the one which most accurately reflects the "mainstream" public opinion in the United States.
OK, now, here's the best part: YOU get to vote! Online. Now. Just go here, click on the little circle next to "Fahrenheit 9/11" in the "Favorite Movie" category and press the "vote" button. "
Moore's tells the liberal community that by voting for his movie, it is their mini-protest for the re-election of President Bush. It's no wonder that they were duped by this fraud again. And they did responded in kind, voting for Moore's piece of crap over Spider-Man 2 and Shrek 2. Shouldn't the box office be the determination for the People's Choice Award for best picture? (Compare F-9/11 to Spider-Man 2 and Shrek 2 - Spidey and Shrek made 3x and 4x what F-9/11 made, respectfully.) In a process where votes can be solicited and recorded with a click of a link on the Internet, how can you claim fairness and integrity of the process?
Then again, fairness and integrity are two words not in Moore's lexicon. With his "victory" in the bag, Moore now claims a mandate.
"I love making movies and I'll take this as an invitation to make more 'Fahrenheit 9/11s,'" Moore said.
Swell.
