Angelides Pulls a Political Boner

State Treasurer Phil Angelides, a candidate for governor, is desperate for attention. Well, he found a stunt to give him a few seconds in the spotlight.

Angelides held a press stunt unveiling the California budget clock. Like the national debt clock, this calculates the amount of debt for California families. However, the clock shows a selective tabulation of California's debt. It includes debt that Schwarzenegger has supported, such as bonds to close the budget gap. But it doesn't include debt Angelides has supported, such as the $3 billion in bonds for California's stem cell research program.

Pay no attention to Phil's $3B boondoggle that is California's stem cell research program. Just focus on the Governor's efforts to reign in and pay for years of Democrat overspending while trying to keep more taxpayer dollars where they belong. . . in our pockets.

I don't know who the bigger idiot is -- the campaign advisor proposing this biased account of California's debt, or Phil for agreeing with it.
